A personal creation pattern tied by Peter Dunne of Ireland for the 2002 Mustad Scandinavian Open Fly-tying Championships. In category 2 of this Championship, tyers are required to tie either a known pattern or a creation pattern. Peter tied a creation salmon fly in colours that were inspired by the bold markings of the Siberian tiger. The fly won a Gold Medal.


The Dressing:

Tag: Silver tinsel and orange silk floss.
Tail: A Topping, and tippet fibres.
Body: First two thirds, rust coloured silk floss; remainder, orange silk floss. Each body section is butted with bronze Peacock herl and veiled on the bottom with orange dyed hen hackle points.
Ribs: Oval silver tinsel over each section.
Throat: Guinea dyed orange.
Wings: Mixed - Tippet feathers; "married" strands of orange and black dyed turkey tail in the Kelson style. A topping over.
Cheeks: Dyed orange Guinea fowl feather.
Head: Black Berlin wool
